Agi Buck
Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach
Specializing in Postural Alignment, Balance and Muscular-Skeletal Stabilization
Agi Buck brings with her over 25 years of experience in rehabilitation, postural biomechanics, fitness and nutrition. She specializes in muscular-skeletal conditions affecting postural alignment, balance, and building core strength. Agi has a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology from California State University Hayward with a minor in Spanish and an Associate of Arts in Psychology from De Anza College.
Her passion stems from overcoming debilitating injuries suffered as a competitive collegiate gymnast. After several extensive knee surgeries, orthopedic doctors told Agi that she would be unable to walk again. She applied her education and her intuitive knowledge of biomechanics to rehabilitate herself through weight training. She strengthened and sculpted her physique, leading her to become nationally renowned in the sport of bodybuilding and powerlifting.
Some of Agi's top honors include:
- 1982 California Mixed Pairs Bodybuilding Champion.
- 1983 National Mixed Pairs Bodybuilding Champion.
- 1984 Northern California "Best Lifter" Award.
- 1985 -1987 California State Powerlifting Champion and State record holder.
- 1992 California State Bodybuilding Champion.
Shortly after the birth of her second daughter, Agi finished her bodybuilding career in 1998 with a top five placing at the Musclemania, an International level competition. Agi is the only bodybuilder to have ever beaten seven-time Ms. Olympia Champion Cory Everson in Mixed Pairs competition.
As a successful "lifetime" drug and steroid free athlete, Agi is a passionate advocate for drug-free sports. Teaming up with a non-profit organization dedicated to the same goal, Agi has lectured at high schools statewide with the likes of Orlando Cepeda, legendary baseball great, educating and motivating teens to stay "on track" and off drugs.
Agi has a strong history in the clinical aspects of physiology -- assessing fitness through Graded Exercise Testing (GXE) and program development for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories. She also has worked closely with physical therapists implementing rehabilitation and active conditioning programs.
Through her reputation alone, Agi has coached and trained a multitude of clients ranging in age, background and physical condition. Her clients have included national and international caliber athletes, sedentary individuals, personal trainers, and those people who are recovering from orthopedic injury. Her goal is to instill postural awareness in her clients. She helps them achieve total body stabilization for greater functional strength, diminished joint stress and increased mobility.
